Take Time for the Changes to Absorb

Every dream comes to an end, yet every end is only the beginning of something new awaiting us. I remember an old wise man once saying to me that we have to stop our activities when our joy is at its peak. In this way, we will always have our best memories with us.

During the past 10 weeks you have learned how to:

  • Set the intention.
  • Organise yourself and figure out what you desire.
  • Ground, centre, focus, engage your core, stand up strong and shine from the inside out, realise all your goals and share your love with the people around you.
  • Practice persistence and patience.
  • Let go and take time to relax.
  • Be in the present moment without judging yourself or your environment. To remain relaxed and calm to enable you to get the most out of every single situation or challenge in order to realise your goals.
  • Celebrate and have fun in life.
  • Be grateful and to live in the moment of now.
  • Bring about a deep connection between your mind, body and soul.
  • Be your own coach, motivator and best friend.

But above all, you have experienced and learnt what it means to BE YOURSELF, just as you are and to continue choosing to BE YOURSELF EVERY SINGLE DAY.

An end and a new beginning
Although this is the end of the series, it does not mean you can now stop practising. Your personal practice has only just begun! Up until now you have been experimenting and trying out my suggestions and tips. From now on, it is you who will decide which practice best suits you and what you will do during each week. Choose what you felt was the best for you and start practising daily.

You become what you choose to be
I remember starting this project with a head injury and not being able to move hardly at all, whereas I now feel love, compassion and lots of joy. No matter what worries, pains and sorrows I experienced, I reminded myself again and again to feel joy. Now, six months later, I feel and notice joy continually because I am much more conscious of it! When there is rain or when I feel sad, I just remind myself of my intention and this is more than enough to get me back on track!

Let it all soak in
Before you move on, it is important to take some time to rest – to lay down and to enable your body to soak it all in and integrate all the information received during the process. Conscious sleep is a method, giving time for your body to relax profoundly and to regenerate. Only after you have absorbed all that was needed are you ready to move on – towards new adventures and teachings.

Here are some tips on how to integrate the information and rest:

  • Use your breath: Applying deep, conscious breathing and taking the time as often as you can during the day to do this, will make incredible changes to the way you feel and behave. Take a couple of seconds of rest after every single piece of food you put in your mouth and just observe how you feel by making this small change. Also, take time after finishing any of your activities and give your body and mind some space for integration. Try not to run too much from one thing to the other. Take time, stop and internalise what you actually just did! Your life will be much more fulfilled and happier and your body more relaxed and healthier.
  • Feel and connect: Try to connect to your true needs this week. What is it that it is hiding behind your mask of perfection, happiness and 'It is all OK.' phrase? Go behind the mask and ask yourself – What do I need right now? Instead of postponing what you need for later, when you have more time, take the time right now to get it, then move on. You will see how much more effective you will be by just changing one little thing.
  • Nurture and take care of your digestion: Try to eat all colours of the rainbow in your food this week: carrots, squash, yams, asparagus, green beans, berries and purple cabbage, this will balance you out, ensuring you get enough vitamin A, omega 3s and proteins to protect joints, bones and skin. Also drink teas such as: chamomile, lemongrass, lavender or rose.
  • Create: Just relax. Do whatever relaxes you, go outdoors into nature and be active. Most importantly – smile a lot!
  • Move consciously using Asanas or Yoga postures for integration and inner peace: SHAVASANA – CORPS POSE.

I hope you feel inspired to find what makes you happy, what fulfils you and to spend as much conscious time doing it as you can. This can be gardening, fishing, playing, hiking, arts, cooking or anything you truly like.

Let this series serve you as a cookbook – you will only need it until one day you decide to start experimenting yourself. Some will never need it, some might prefer a different taste, others might stick to it for a bit longer. It does not matter – as long as you use it to connect to your true self – this is the only way to feel joy at all times!

As my gift to you, you can find below a short video of a guided meditation practice called: HAPPY BREATH. You can relax and close your eyes, allowing yourself to be guided by my voice or just watch it first and then practice on your own. Let it inspire you to feel the deep, pure and unique joy that only you have within yourself.
